What is Aid? |
Welcome to the Boise Chapter of the Association for India's Development (AID).We are a 501(C)(3) (Federal Tax-ID 04-3652609) non-profit charitable organization. Started in 1991 by graduate students at the University of Maryland, AID raises awareness on development issues and supports many community development efforts in India. AID currently has 48 volunteer-run chapters across the world, funding more than 365 developmental projects in 18 states in India.The Boise chapter of AID has been active since 2000.

2011 Projects Supported by AID-Boise |

1. Library Project in Surodhi, Maharashtra
- This project aims to build a library for the school children of Surodi village and of neighboring
villages in the district, to promote the desire for education and learning among the future generations
2. Unmesh - Child protection center
- This project helps in providing basic healthcare, education and shelter to rescued children and
reintegrates/repatriates them into society; upgrading the life skills and self reliance of underprivileged children
through training and giving the children the childhood they deserve. AID Boise will be supporting this project into
its 3rd year.
3. Integrated Development Project in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh
- This project is the integrated and sustainable development in a geographic region of about 30 villages.
It includes several areas like, kitchen gardening practices, rain water harvesting, health care awareness, right to
democratic processes and information awareness, anti-corruption campaigns, women empowerment, environment and energy
conservation and child health and education
